Bonnie here:
For the last couple days, we enjoyed an interesting and beautiful ride through the Yukon. Breathtaking scenery and fun company. Yesterday we ate lunch in White Horse -- you probably remember that's the place that Jack London wrote about and where the poet Robert Service lived. Now it's quite a cosmopolitan city but not very big. Only 35,000 live in the whole of the Yukon! We drove for miles and never saw a person. It's amazing.
Last night we made it to Alaska and went through another time change. I don't like the fact that now our time is four hours different from our family and friends in Maine, but I do like the extra light each day. At night, I put towels up on our windows in the camper so we can fall sleep a little more easily. It's still light when we go to bed.
Last night we stayed in Tok, Alaska, and tonight we are in Fairbanks. We got in our truck to start our trip to Fairbanks at 9:00 and saw a bald eagle at 9:30. That, too, is pretty wonderful.
This afternoon we met up with Faye and Brian who also are visiting Alaska. We are looking forward to sharing some adventures.
Here are a few of the 85 pictures that I took yesterday. The Yukon is that pretty!
