Steve here:
Today was my idea, and Yogi's to go not all the way into the park - taking 13 hours - but going only to Wonder Lake - 11 hours. Still a long day on a bus!
Yogi, you ask?
This wonderful young lady at the sales desk was so very helpful at suggesting for us as to which trip to take. As she helped us, I couldn't help but ask her who the baseball fan of the family was. Turns out her dad was a HUGE Yogi Berra fan, named her for him, and she wore the mantle proudly!!
Did I already say she was amazing? And I am not a Yankee fan, but am a class person fan!!
So, we signed up for the 11 hour tour, in hopes of seeing Mt. McKinley.
Sorry!
However, the day was no a total loss, for we saw many more animals than we saw on '09.
In '09 the wolf population was strong, and we saw one, but since then it has diminished, so we saw none.
We did see a herd of elk, Dall sheep, ptarmigen (?), and six Grizzlies!
The highlight was in our 9 th hour, when one of the Grizzlies decided to dine right beside of the roadway. I did get some pretty good shots, but I'll let you be the judge when I figure out how to post them!!
Thank you, Yogi!!
